Explore Barcelona’s wonderful Historical City Centre. With your guide stroll through the labyrinth of twisting narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter, that dates back to the Romans occupation of Barcelona, stop for a look at the amazing 12th Cathedral de La Seu & Cloisters, considered by many to be one finest examples of Gothic architecture in Barcelona.
Then onto the Las Ramblas a tree lined lively pedestrian avenue that starts at Placa Catalunya and finishes at the Port Vell Marina, packed with shops, bars and restaurants, a great place to stop for a coffee and watch the world go by. Then continue onto Placa St Jaume where you will find Barcelona’s City Hall and a short walk away is the pretty 18th Century plaza of Placa Reial, lined with palm trees fountains, cafes and lamp posts designed by Gaudi. Next stop is hustle and bustle of The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria Market.
Wander around this wonderful covered market that dates back to the early 13th Century, packed with stall holders selling everything from fresh flowers, fruit and cheeses and lobsters fresh out of the sea. You might like to try some Tapas at one or two of the bars dotted around the market.
